Flensburg/Maasholm,05. March 2010
Dirk Höper and the DGzRS crew at the Maasholm station happily accepted the cheque of € 3,000 for the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service today, which stems from ORION’s Christmas charity donation campaign.
Every year on Christmas, the erotic company gives away special presents to their friends and business partners. In 2009, ORION prepared an extensive list of gifts to choose from – among those the opportunity to make a donation on behalf of the DGzRS.
The response was more than positive: many presentees chose to support the important work of the maritime rescue service instead of selecting one of the other presents from ORION. Werner Sinner, management board: “We are very pleased with the success of donation campaign and decided to double the sum to € 3,000.” Ann-Kathrin Döbbeke, ORION’s press relations officer, handed over the cheque aboard the 23.5 m long rescue cruiser NIS RANDERS.
NIS RANDERS was built by Schweers-Werft in Bardenfleth in 1990. Its dinghy is named ONKEL WILLI. Since it was put into service on 29 May 1990, the rescue cruiser is stationed in the fishing harbour of Maasholm. The call signal of NIS RANDERS is DBAF. The cruiser is named after the main character of the poem “Nis Randers”, the archetype of the German crewman, by Otto Ernst. The dinghy is named in remembrance of Willi Wald, the longterm chief of the Maasholm station.
