ORION supports photo artist

In 2007 photo artist BIANCA PATRICIA approached the erotic company ORION in search of a sponsor for her project “Sehnsucht”. Erotic articles, in particular dildos and vibrators were to be captured on film for a photographic series. During her course of studies the artist planned further projects, among these a project with the working title “Frauengruppe” in 2008. Also in this case love toys by ORION were used as props.

According to BIANCA PATRICIA, all artistic works have to be put into context: sex toys are transferred from the level of consumer item to the level of design and objet d'art.

This becomes apparent in her work “Amazone 21” which features a fighting scene with women dressed in lingerie. Set in a posh staircase, these women fight each other with huge love toys as their chosen weapons. In contrast, in BIANCA PATRICIA’s work “Sehnsucht” a vibrator takes up the form of a small, elegant, and stylized hand. As BIANCA PATRICIA states, “the background and the idea behind a work of art are of major importance, in most cases they are even more important than the work itself.”

Two lithographic prints were given to ORION as a thank-you, so all visitors and ORION staff members have the chance to admire the result of ORION’s sponsorships.
