Sex, Intimacy, Loneliness: A global survey, launching at the end of March, will examine how people experience intimacy today
Flensburg, March 2026
Are people having less sex these days or are we simply talking more openly about intimacy than ever before?
This question is at the heart of an international industry initiative that will launch one of the largest global surveys on sexual wellness from the end of March. The timing is no coincidence: there is a growing global discussion about a possible ‘sex recession’, rising loneliness and new forms of intimacy. The organisers therefore want to learn about current attitudes across different countries to better understand how people view sexuality, intimacy and personal well-being today.
The survey focuses on questions such as:
- How do people today define desire, intimacy and sexual health?
- What role does emotional well-being play in a fulfilling sex life?
- And how do people discover products related to sexual wellness?
Real voices. Real needs. Real change.
Between dating apps, mental health, growing self-determination and new relationship models, attitudes towards intimacy are noticeably changing. The sex-positive platform zandora.net is therefore launching a global online survey in collaboration with the companies ORION, Lovehoney, ONE® and pjur, as well as the PR agencies Little Leaf Agency and Modality.
“Sexuality is a central part of our well-being, and yet we know surprisingly little about how people really feel about it today”, says Thomas Kjær – founder of zandora.
“With this survey, we want to give people around the world a voice and gain a better understanding of what intimacy means to them today.”
The official launch of the survey is scheduled for 23rd March 2026. It will be available in several languages, including German, English, French and Spanish. People worldwide can participate in the survey, which takes just a few minutes.
The aim is to reach as broad a community as possible through the partners’ international networks. The survey will run until the end of July 2026. All the results will then be analysed anonymously and published in a comprehensive Sexual Wellness Insights Report. The report is intended not only to provide the industry with valuable new insights, but also to lay the foundations for a more open and informed discussion about sexuality and intimacy.
